Long before there was any earth, sun or stars, God was living. Always He was living. The very first story in the Bible tells us how God made the world and everything in it. In the beginning, God made the heavens and the earth.

1. ꤭

At first the earth had no shape and was empty. Everything was dark. But the Spirit of God was there.

God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. Then God separated the light and the darkness. He called the light "day" and He called the darkness "night." This was what God did on the first day. And He saw that what He had done was good.

1:3-5

Next God separated the waters and put a space between them. God called this space the "sky." He did this on the second day. And God saw that this was good.

1:6-8

On the third day, God caused the waters to come together so that dry ground would appear. He called the dry ground "land" and he called the waters that came together “seas.” And God saw that it was good.

1:9-10

That same day God said, "Let the land be filled with many kinds of trees and plants," and that’s what happened. All the plants made seeds, and all the trees had fruit with seeds so that there would always be plants and trees. And God saw that it was good.

1:11-12

On the fourth day God made lights in the sky—the sun and the moon and the stars, which made light for the earth and marked the seasons. The sun was for the day and the moon and stars for the night. And God saw that it was good.

1:14-19

Next, God caused the seas to be filled with many kinds of fish and other living things.

1:20-21

ꤔꤢꤪꤊꤢꤧ,ꤡꤣꤪꤕꤢ꤬ꤚꤢ꤭ ꤢ꤬ꤗꤢ꤬ꤓꤢ꤭ꤔ-ꤓꤣꤧꤘꤢꤨ ꤓꤣꤧꤜꤝꤣꤧ꤬ ꤢꤨꤔꤢꤦ꤬ ꤒꤢ꤬ꤖꤢꤨ ꤢꤪꤙꤢꤨ꤬ ꤢꤪꤢ ꤘꤢꤧ ꤘꤣꤦꤚꤣꤪ꤬ ꤒꤢ꤬ꤗꤤ꤬ꤒꤢ꤬ꤖꤢꤞꤤ꤯

God also made very many kinds of birds to fly in the sky. He blessed the fish and the birds saying,

“Reproduce and become very many and fill the seas with fish and the earth with birds.”

1:22

That was the fifth day of creation, and God saw that it was all very good!

On the sixth day, God made all the animals that live on the land.

ꤔꤣꤩ꤬ꤞꤢꤨꤞꤢꤨꤔꤢꤦ꤬,ꤡꤣꤪꤕꤢ꤬ꤚꤢ꤬ ꤢ꤬ꤗꤢ꤬ ꤜꤢꤨꤜꤢꤨ꤬ ꤒꤢ꤬ꤗꤤ꤬ ꤘꤣ ꤟꤢ꤭ꤔ-ꤋꤢꤨꤛꤢ꤭ ꤔꤢꤦ꤬ꤒꤢ꤬ꤔꤣꤪ꤭꤯

He made livestock.

1:24-25

ꤛꤢ꤭ ꤢ꤬ꤗꤢ꤬ꤓꤢ꤭ꤔ-ꤒꤢ꤬ꤗꤤ꤬꤯

And He made all kinds of wild animals and creatures that crawl on the ground.

ꤡꤣꤦ꤭ꤊꤢꤧ ꤛꤢ꤭ ꤢ꤬ꤗꤢ꤬ ꤒꤢ꤬ꤗꤤ꤬ ꤢꤪꤙꤢꤨ꤬ꤢꤪꤢ ꤏꤤ꤭ꤖꤢꤔ-ꤚꤢ꤬ꤔ-ꤏꤢꤦ ꤘꤢꤧ ꤢ꤬ꤙꤣꤧꤟꤢꤔꤤ꤬ꤘꤣꤟꤢ꤭ꤔ-ꤋꤢꤨ꤯

There were no farm crops yet, because there were no people to grow them. And there was no rain yet. Plants and trees got their water from mists that came up from the ground.

God had created a beautiful earth filled with fish and birds and all kinds of animals.

ꤡꤣꤪꤕꤢ꤬ꤚꤢ꤭ ꤢ꤬ꤗꤢ꤬ꤓꤢꤨꤓꤢ꤭ꤔ-ꤢ꤬ꤕꤣꤦꤒꤢ꤬ꤚꤤ꤭ ꤕꤢ꤬ꤟꤢ꤭ꤔ-ꤋꤢꤨꤛꤢ꤭ ꤘꤢꤧ ꤓꤢꤨ꤭ꤖꤢꤨ ,ꤒꤢ꤬ꤗꤤ꤬ꤞꤤ꤯

When God finished making all these things, He looked at them and was pleased.

1:31

ꤡꤣꤪꤕꤢ꤬ꤚꤢ꤭ ꤗꤢ꤭ꤓꤢꤨꤓꤢ꤭ꤔ-ꤔꤢꤦ꤬ꤋꤢ ꤜꤢꤨꤜꤢꤨ꤬ ꤘꤣꤚꤣꤪ꤬ꤔꤢꤦ꤬ꤒꤢ꤬ꤔꤢꤪ,ꤛꤢ꤭ ꤢ꤭ꤗꤢꤪꤡꤣꤩ꤭ꤢꤧꤔꤢꤦ꤬ꤒꤢ꤬ꤔꤢꤪꤊꤢꤧ ꤢ꤬ꤒꤣꤪ꤬ꤢ꤬ꤞꤢꤕꤜꤣꤨ꤭꤯

Everything He had made was very good.

1:31

ꤘꤣꤚꤣꤪ꤬ꤔꤢꤦ꤬ꤒꤢ꤬ꤔꤢꤪ  ꤛꤢ꤭ꤢ꤬ꤗꤢ꤬ꤢꤪꤗꤤ꤭ꤢ꤬ꤡꤢꤦ꤯

But God had not finished yet. He planned to make something else, something very special. God planned to do that before the sixth day ended.

God said, "Let us make man in our image, so He will be like us." Then God formed a man, Adam, from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life. So Adam became a living person.

Now the LORD God had planted a garden in Eden. There were many trees of all kinds in the garden. They were very beautiful and their fruit was delicious.

2:8-9

ꤒꤢ꤬ꤚꤣꤩ꤬꤯ꤘꤣꤒꤢ꤬ꤚꤣꤩ꤬ꤢꤨꤔꤢ꤬ꤦꤒꤢ꤬ꤖꤣꤪ꤭ꤞꤣꤩ꤭ꤞꤢ꤭ꤒꤢ꤬ꤖꤢꤪ ꤢꤪꤙꤢꤨ꤬ꤢꤪꤕꤢꤧ꤬꤯ ꤛꤢ꤭ꤞꤤ ꤢ꤬ꤞꤢ꤭ꤚꤢ꤬ꤗꤤ꤭  ꤢ꤬ꤚꤤ꤬ꤢ꤬ꤏꤛꤢꤨꤡꤢꤪ꤯

In the middle of the garden were two special trees—the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

ꤟꤢꤒꤢꤦ꤬ ꤘꤣ ꤒꤢ꤬ꤚꤣꤩ꤬ꤊꤜꤣꤪꤗꤢ꤬ꤢꤨꤊꤢꤧ  ꤢ꤬ꤗꤢ꤬ꤢꤪ ꤗꤢꤦ꤬ꤙꤣꤪꤔꤣꤩ꤭ ꤢ꤬ꤡꤢꤦ꤬ ꤘꤣꤧ  ꤗꤢꤦ꤬ꤙꤣꤩ ꤜꤢ꤬ꤔ-ꤏꤤ꤭ꤒꤢ꤬ꤔꤢ꤬ ꤘꤣꤧ ꤢ꤬ꤡꤢꤦ꤬ꤠꤢ꤭ꤔꤢꤦ꤬ꤒꤢ꤬ꤔꤢꤪ꤯

The LORD God took Adam and put him in the Garden of Eden. He told Adam to work in the garden and to take good care of it.

2:15

ꤡꤣꤪꤕꤢ꤬ꤚꤢ꤭ ꤢ꤬ꤕꤢꤨ꤬ ꤋꤢꤨꤢ꤬ꤘꤢ꤬ꤔ- ꤢ꤬ꤢꤪꤘꤣ ꤤ꤭ꤘꤢꤩ꤬ ꤒꤢ꤬ꤚꤣꤩ꤬ꤢꤨꤔꤢꤦ꤬꤯ꤛꤢ꤭ ꤢ꤬ꤚꤢ꤬ ꤢ꤬ꤘꤢ꤬ꤔ- ꤢ꤬ꤚꤣꤧ꤬ ꤘꤣ ꤒꤢ꤬ꤚꤣꤩ꤬ꤢꤨ ꤊꤢꤧ ꤗꤢꤪꤡꤢꤦꤡꤢꤦꤘꤣꤧ ꤢꤧꤒꤢ꤬ꤔꤢꤪꤔꤢꤧ꤯

God allowed Adam to eat the fruit of any of the trees in the garden—except one! And the LORD God commanded Adam not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. God said, "If you do, you will surely die!"

2:16-17

ꤡꤣꤪꤕꤢ꤬ꤚꤢ꤬ ꤢ꤬ꤕꤜꤢꤧ ꤋꤢꤨꤢ꤬ꤘꤢ꤬ꤔ- ꤒꤢ꤬ꤚꤣꤩ꤬ꤢꤨ ꤞꤣꤩ꤭ꤞꤢ꤭ꤜꤢꤨꤜꤢꤨ꤬ꤗꤤ꤭ ꤢ꤭ꤔ-ꤔꤤ꤬ ꤗꤢꤨ꤭! ꤊꤢꤧ ꤡꤣꤪꤕꤢ꤬ꤚꤢ꤭ ꤢ꤬ꤗꤢ꤭ꤢꤪ  ꤞꤣꤩ꤭ꤞꤢ꤭ ꤒꤢ꤬ꤔꤢꤪꤗꤤ꤭ ꤒꤢ꤬ꤏꤤ꤭ꤔꤢ꤬ ꤒꤢ꤬ꤔꤔꤢꤪꤊꤢꤧꤢ꤬ꤡꤢꤦꤠꤢ꤭ ꤢ꤬ꤘꤢ꤬ꤔ ꤯ꤡꤣꤪꤕꤢ꤬ꤚꤢ꤭ ꤚꤢ꤬,ꤢ꤭ꤔ-ꤗꤢꤪꤒꤢ꤬ ꤞꤣꤩ꤭ꤞꤢ꤭ ꤢꤧꤔꤢꤦ꤬ꤗꤢ꤬ꤔꤢꤧ,ꤔꤢ꤬ ꤢ꤭ꤔ-ꤗꤤ꤭ ꤞꤣꤧꤊꤢꤧ ꤯

Then the LORD God said, "It is not good for Adam to be alone." God planned to make a helper who would be just right for Adam.

2:18

ꤡꤣꤩ꤭ꤊꤢꤧ ꤡꤣꤪꤕꤢ꤬ꤚꤢ꤭ ꤚꤢ꤬," ꤋꤢꤨꤢ꤬ꤘꤢ꤬ꤔ- ꤢ꤬ꤢꤪꤒꤢꤨꤘꤢꤨ꤭ ꤗꤤ꤭ ꤢ꤬ꤡꤢꤦꤠꤢ꤭", ꤡꤣꤨꤊꤢꤧ ꤡꤣꤪꤕꤢ꤬ꤚꤢ꤭ꤜꤢ꤬ꤗꤢ꤬ꤓꤢꤨꤓꤢ꤭ꤔꤖꤚꤢ꤬ꤗꤢ꤬ꤡꤝꤢꤧ꤬ ꤢ꤬ꤘꤢ꤬ꤔ-ꤍꤢ꤯

God brought to Adam all the birds and animals He had made so Adam could give them names. But none of these creatures was just right to be Adam's helper.

2:19-20

ꤡꤣꤪꤕꤢ꤬ꤚꤢ꤭ ꤡꤢꤊꤣꤩ꤬ ꤢ꤬ꤘꤢ꤬ꤔ-ꤢꤪ  ꤒꤢ꤬ꤗꤤ꤬ ꤘꤢꤧ ꤓꤢꤨ꤭ꤖꤢꤨ ꤜꤢꤨꤜꤢꤨ꤬ ꤛꤢ꤭ꤢ꤬ꤗꤢ꤬ ꤒꤢꤦꤔꤢꤧ ꤢ꤬ꤘꤢ꤬ꤔ-ꤘꤣꤧꤛꤢ꤬꤭ꤞꤤꤗꤤ꤬꤯ꤗꤢ꤬ꤔꤢꤧ꤬ ꤋꤢꤨꤢ꤬ꤘꤢ꤬ꤔ-ꤍꤢ ꤢ꤬ꤋꤢꤪꤢꤪꤘꤢꤨꤠꤢ꤭꤯

So God caused Adam to fall into a deep sleep. Then the LORD God took a rib from Adam's side and made a woman from the rib.

2:21-22

ꤗꤢ꤬ꤋꤢꤔꤢꤦ꤬ꤊꤢꤧ ꤡꤣꤪꤕꤢ꤬ꤚꤢ꤬ ꤢ꤬ꤗꤢ꤬ ꤢꤪꤗꤣꤩ ꤒꤢ꤬ꤙꤣꤩ꤬ꤊꤣꤧ ꤢ꤬ꤘꤢ꤬ꤔ-꤯ꤡꤣꤩꤊꤢꤧ ꤡꤣꤪꤕꤢ꤬ꤚꤢ꤭ ꤢ꤬ꤡꤢ ꤢ꤬ꤘꤢ꤬ꤔ-  ꤢꤪ ꤚꤢꤦ꤬ꤋꤚꤣꤩ ꤊꤢꤧ ꤢ꤬ꤗꤢ꤬ ꤖꤢꤨꤗꤣꤨ꤭ꤒꤢ꤬ꤖꤚꤢ꤬ ꤘꤢꤧ ꤚꤢꤦ꤬ꤋꤚꤣꤩ꤯

When Adam woke up and saw the woman, he said, "This is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh." That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife. Then the two of them become like just one person.

2:23-24

God told Adam and Eve to have many children so that people would live all over the earth.

1:28

ꤕꤛꤢ꤬ꤔ-ꤖꤢꤨ ꤔꤢꤦ꤬ꤒꤢ꤬ꤔꤢꤪ ꤔꤣꤦꤢꤪꤪꤢ ꤘꤣ ꤟꤢ꤭ꤔ-ꤋꤢꤨ ꤊꤢꤧ ꤡꤣꤪꤕꤢ꤬ꤚꤢ꤭ ꤔꤢꤦ꤬ ꤖꤢꤨꤢꤪꤚꤢꤪ꤬ꤢꤪꤢ ꤋꤢꤨꤢ꤬ꤘꤢ꤬ꤔ- ꤘꤢꤧ ꤗꤣꤨ꤭ꤤ꤭ꤝꤢ꤯

He also told them that He was putting them in charge of all the fish, birds and animals on the earth.

God saw all He had made, and it was very good! So on the seventh day He rested and said that the seventh day would continue to be a holy day.
